Your Voice, Your King: Why Your Vote Matters
Every four years, we have a chance to decide together what kind of community we want King Township to be. The municipal election is Monday, October 26, 2026, and I hope every eligible voter takes part.
Municipal government is the level of government closest to home. Its decisions affect our roads and snow clearing, parks and trails, community centres, water, and how our towns and countryside grow. Decisions made at the council table shape daily life in King City, Nobleton, Schomberg and every hamlet in between.
Local elections often have lower turnout than other elections. When fewer people vote, fewer voices help shape decisions that affect the whole community. Your vote matters.
When and how to vote in King Township
King Township is offering online voting during the advance voting period, as well as in-person advance voting and in-person voting on Election Day.
In-person advance voting: October 10, 17 and 24, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Online advance voting: October 13 at 10 a.m. to October 23 at 8 p.m.
Election Day: Monday, October 26, in person from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

A note to parents, grandparents and students
Advance voting begins over Thanksgiving weekend, when many families are gathered and university and college students may be home. Online voting gives eligible students who are away at school another way to vote in the community where they live or are otherwise eligible.
Please take a moment to ask the young adults in your family: have you made a plan to vote? You might even make it a family tradition. A first vote is a milestone many people remember.
Whoever you support, please vote. King is a special place because people here show up for one another. Let’s show up for our community, too.
